Product Review: SoDelicious Coffee Creamers

Posted by emily on September 28, 2009

I have been trying to slowly eliminate processed soy in my diet, seeing as it is a phytoestrogen and can create hormonal issues in some individuals.  One of the soy items I have had the most problem cutting back on is coffee creamer.  I have tried using almond milk, rice milk, hazelnut milk -- you name it.  It just isn’t the same; they just diluted the coffee and didn’t add much flavor.  So imagine how excited I was to hear that SoDelicious introduced new coffee creamers not too long ago!

I asked the local natural food store if they would carry it, and once their management gave the thumbs up, they made room in their beverage case for the hazelnut and the original flavors.  I bought both.

As I first poured it into my coffee, I noticed how truly rich it is.  The color was identical to that of my husband’s dairy creamer, and part of the whole experience is presentation.  The creamer is sweet, but not overly sweet (a few drops of stevia is all I need to bring it up to my level of yum) and it enhanced rather than detracted from the natural flavor of the coffee.

I have been following SoDelicious on Twitter and they have been posting recipe ideas.  I can’t wait to try them all -- (check out their website to see their full product line.)  We’ve been using the coconut milks as well as the yogurts and the ice cream for a while now and they never cease to amaze and delight me.  Why substitute or settle when you can actually experience something truly amazing and beyond expectations?

My conclusion: these products are not replacements for dairy products; they are on a whole new level entirely.
